Designed and manufactured by Feral Mama Designs, this functional accessory fits securely over the existing photocontrol housing to help block surrounding artificial and ambient light while keeping the photocontrol sensor properly exposed.

⭐ WHY USE A PHOTOCONTROL LIGHT SHIELD? ⭐
Intermatic thermal photocontrols feature a semi-transparent housing that allows light to enter from multiple directions.

This can become especially problematic when the photocontrol is installed closer to ground level, where it may be exposed to additional ambient light from:
❌ Vehicle headlights
❌ Nearby parking lot or building lights
❌ Landscape lighting
❌ Other surrounding artificial light sources

Our Light Shield Hood blocks a majority of this unwanted surrounding light while maintaining a directional opening at the photocontrol's sensor location.

By reducing unwanted light reaching the photocontrol, the shield can help the photocontrol activate sooner as natural daylight decreases and remain activated longer before turning off as daylight returns.

⚠️ IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION ⚠️
Proper orientation of the Light Shield Hood is essential for correct photocontrol operation.

On the top of the compatible Intermatic photocontrol is a directional arrow containing the letter “N.” This arrow indicates the direction in which the photocontrol sensor should be oriented toward NORTH.

When installing the Light Shield Hood, the hooded sensor opening must be aligned with this “N” directional arrow. This ensures that the opening in the shield is properly aligned with the photocontrol's sensor location.

Installing the shield in the incorrect orientation may obstruct the sensor and interfere with proper photocontrol functionality.
