Child Safety Lock for Lever Door Handles | 3D Printed Door Handle Childproofing Device | Schlage Flair Compatible | Multiple Colors
Keep little hands from opening doors with our 3D Printed Child Safety Lock for Lever Door Handles! Designed to help prevent young children from opening doors independently, this simple device restricts the downward movement of a lever-style door handle while allowing the handle to be lifted upward to open the door.
Perfect for bedrooms, bathrooms, and other areas of your home where you want an added layer of childproofing.
Each lock is 3D printed in the USA by Feral Mama Designs LLC using PLA filament and is available in a variety of colors to complement your home's style.
~Features:
-Blocks downward movement: Prevents the lever from traveling far enough downward to release the door latch when properly installed.
-Allows upward opening: The door can still be opened by lifting the lever upward.
-Simple, stationary design: The device remains securely positioned behind the handle without moving during normal use.
**Door handle and mounting hardware: Not included
~Compatibility & Measurements:
-Originally designed for the Schlage Flair lever handle with a round plate. May fit other lever-style handles with compatible dimensions.
-Please verify your door handle measurements before purchasing.
~Measurement:
-Maximum backing plate diameter: 29 mm
-Door surface to back of lever: 47 mm
**Compatibility with other handle models is not guaranteed.
~Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the existing lever handle assembly.
2. Slide the childproofing device behind the handle, positioning the center opening around the handle's mounting hardware.
3. Reinstall the handle, leaving the mounting screws slightly loose.
4. Rotate the device until the raised portion sits directly below the lever, with the lever just barely contacting it.
5. Tighten all mounting screws securely.
6. Test the device to ensure it does not slip or rotate when downward pressure is applied.
**IMPORTANT: If the device slips, tighten the screws further. If it cannot be secured sufficiently to prevent movement, do not rely on it for child safety.
Because each item is 3D printed, minor layer lines and slight variations in surface finish are normal.
Important Safety Information
This product is an additional childproofing aid, not a substitute for adult supervision or a certified security device. It does not guarantee that a child cannot open a door.
Always test the installed device before use and periodically check that it remains securely positioned. Do not use it on emergency exits, fire-rated doors, or any door where restricted operation could interfere with safe evacuation. Ensure all household members who may need to operate the door understand how it works.
